Pink Snow Mold

What is it?

  • It is a fungus, pink in color, that appears on your lawn after the snow has melted away.

What does it look like?

  • It will be pink in color and in patches ranging from a few inches in diameter to almost a foot in diameter

 

 

 

 

 

What brings on snow mold?

  • Long periods of snow laying on grass that is not frozen.

How do I control snow mold?

  • Spring fertilization will help alleviate this problem. Also lightly raking these areas with a leaf rake will improve the air flow through the grass, helping to speed up the recovery.
